What to Expect on My First Visit

Your First Sunday at First United Methodist, Mocksville

We want to make it easy and pleasant for you to come to our church. We want you to be able to experience the great music, encouraging messages, friendly people, and enjoyable atmosphere that are a part of First Church Mocksville.

What is the schedule on Sundays?

Bible study ( Sunday School ) for all ages begins at 9:50 AM. Early Light worship begins at 8:45 AM in the Family Life Center. The 10:55 AM service is in the Sanctuary following Sunday School, with nursery care available during both services.

Where should I park?

Parking is relatively easy at First Church. For your convenience, there are parking lots on both sides of N. Main Street. There is a parking lot on the east side where the Family Life Center is located, and on the west side, there is parking beside the Sanctuary on W. Church Street.  Extra parking is usually available  in the rear parking lot of Eaton's Funeral Home.

Where should I go first?

When you visit prior to Sunday school in the Family Life Center ( 8:45 a.m. service), you’ll be greeted by church members who can offer you information about the various class listings for adults (and children) and escort you and your family to your Sunday Bible Study classes after the service. If you are joining us for Worship at 8:45 AM or at 10:55 AM, you’ll find friendly people eager to meet you and tell you more about our congregation.

How will I find my way around?

Our address is 310 N. Main Street in Mocksville, NC. Our facilities are situated on both sides of N. Main Street. The main Sanctuary, Sunday School Classes, Preschool/Children’s building and Fellowship Hall are on the west side of N. Main, and the Family Life Center is on the east side. Additional Sunday School Classes and the church offices are located in the Family Life Center building.

What are worship services like?

Our Sunday services are distinct because of their strong emphasis on sacred music and traditional worship at the 10:55 a.m. service.  Early Light offers a more contemporary worship style led by a praise band and vocal ensemble. Through music, prayer, scripture, silence and the spoken word by Dr. Myers, we lift our hearts to God.

What do I wear?

Some people wear suits and dresses and others wear slacks and polo shirts. Please know you will be welcome no matter what you wear.

Can I meet the Pastor?

The Pastor would love to meet you! He and other members of the staff are available in the Narthex ( or just outside the sanctuary) after worship every Sunday morning and in the Family Life Center just after Early Light. If you would like a more in-depth visit with the Pastor, please call the church office to set up a time for a personal visit or phone call. You can call the church office at 336-751-2503 Monday-Thursday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.  The office is closed on Fridays.  You may also email us HERE.

We look forward to meeting you!
