First
United Methodist Church in Mocksville was founded in 1834 and grew
out of Bethel Church located about a mile from our building. By
1836, our church had 66 members of which 41 where slaves. We currently
have a very active congregation with members of all ages. Sunday
worship services include a contemporary service at our Family Life
Center at 8:45 a.m. and
a traditional service at 10:55 a.m in the Sanctuary.
We are
active in serving our community and the world through work projects
and trips all through the year. When there is a need, we reach out
to help. We are the body of Christ and work to serve his needs.
We have Wednesday night Fellowship meals each week and have active
United Methodist Men, Women and Youth groups. There is a place for
everyone to serve at FUMC!
Our
church belongs to the Western North Carolina Conference of the United
